2 Peter 3:18 KJV
But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen. For a while now, I've been blessed to be able to walk with my parents almost everyday. They are both over 70 and just this past Sabbath, they BOTH scaled the summit at Natural Bridge in Slade, Kentucky! But on today's walk I noticed something: trees just grow! I don't mean jiust looking up, but looking down. All the way down to...the sidewalk. If you stroll around most neighborhoods that have been around for a while, you will notice some interesting sidewalks. Not how they look, but how they lay. Some slabs are pushed downward while others are pushed way upward. For a septuagenarian (somone over 70) athlete, they can pose a risk...or for anybody too busy minding their cell phone. But for all of us, these jolted slabs are a testimony. The slabs get pushed up and down because of the trees nearby that refuse to stop growing. Not just upward, but downward. The roots refuse to stop reaching for more earth. They knarl, stretch, and literally bench press the concrete with ease with one goal in mind - just grow! Just grow. Have you ever seen a tree get into an argument? You ever seen a tree at a conference or at a tree meeting?
